OB A.9965
This motorcar tractor, part of the series 9965-9966 and manufactured by the SA Franco-Belge pour la Construction de Matériel de Chemins de Fer, was put into service in November 1911. It is a motorcar of the type OB, which stands for Oostende-Blankenberge. This type was used for the replacement of steam trams during the electrification of the Oostende-Blankenberge line. The first generation of these motorcars has no passenger seats, but is equipped with two sliding doors in the side walls for loading and unloading goods. They were not only used by the Road and Works department, but also for collecting freight from various seaside resorts and pulling passenger trains during the high season, until more modern motorcars became available.
